PhD Student in Computer Science, Oxford Brookes University
Alla Vovk is a user interface designer, researcher and a media artist who believes in multi-disciplinary research and industry-academia collaboration. Mixing scientific approach with personal narratives, she creates transformative, participatory and bodily AR experiences for training. Conventionally trained as a journalist, she claims storytelling as her native language and applies it to interactive augmentation. As a PhD student, her goal is to reconfigure spatial interaction with physical world for empowering human learning and training.
This talk will focus on what is a spatial interface and how people interact with the physical-digital environment in real workplaces. Intuitive things that are adoptions from the physical world and their combination with basic principles of human perception are implemented in AR training applications.
