Innovator, The Knowledge Society
Sabarish Gnanamoorthy is a 14 year-old Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) developer. He is the youngest AR developer in the world to be sponsored by Microsoft to develop for the Microsoft HoloLens. He is also supported and sponsored by the Thiel Foundation for his venture, WaypointAR. WaypointAR is an augmented reality navigation platform for airports, campuses, large conferences, and malls. Sabarish has been awarded a scholarship from Udacity for their VR Developer Nanodegree program and he’s one of the youngest people to have built several applications for VR and AR. His mentors and advisors represent some of the leading companies in the AR/VR space.
Sabarish believes that XR is going to change our lives through the creation of alternate and parallel worlds. The fundamental technology exists but it’s nowhere near where it needs to be to change our lives on such a large scale. Dreaming about this future isn’t going to cut it. Sabarish wants to turn this sci-fi dream into a reality and pioneer the extended reality space. Sabarish is going to discuss the future of XR, how it’s going to impact his generation, what technology providers are getting wrong and how we should be approaching the future of XR.
